I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
